Forepeak and Heads

Original as built

Originally the Fore Peak was a completely closed compartment, with a double diagonal Mahogany bulkhead. It was only accessed via a deck Hatch. It was originally filled with "Air Cases".

When I obtained the boat this had already been altered to make it into Heads (Bathroom). The toilet was there, but it was old and would have cost more to repair than a new one, also it only discharged to Sea. The new regulations, especially for going to european countries requires you to have a holding tank.

So as well as having to repair this section it was decided to re-wire, lights and put in a new supply for an electric loo, Pumps etc. all off the new auxiliary panel in the Forward cabin

The original sink only drained into a 20ltr plastic container, so I decided to fit a small holding tank that could be Pumped out, not automatically but with a warning light when full.
But wanting to save money, the same pump also empties the Loo tank and can be used for the fore peak bilges.

Another slight problem, well for 21st of me was that the Door/Hatch was a little on the small side, so as the bulkhead had already been cut through and originality lost I felt that making the Doorway larger was not to the detriment of the boat.

The whole inside of the hull had been lined with UPVC sheeting, and I have done away with that so as to be able to maintain the inside of the hull easily. So everything was repaired, re-painted and fitting out is well on the way.
