Deck Repairs 7

The last section of Port side Amidships deck has been stripped, first by needle gun and scraper. Then on to burning, sanding, priming, filling and 2nd primer.

Finally got Aft deck sealed. Very fiddely, lots of things in the way!

Now on to the Fender. These are wooden boxes that come out about 6" from the gunnels of the boat, fully surrounding the Hull & capped with a rubber "D" fender. These were to keep the boat away from other boats during a rescue.
The rubber fender has badly perished on the top edge, which has allowed water to get in behind the fender. As the boat is not going to be used in anger, I have decided to make the joint between the "D" fender and the wooden fender watertight, and leave the old fender in place, for looks only.
